Right now, there are five people actively working on the WPI Halo Map, and they are all members of the undergraduate class of 2009 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute [WPI]. The WPI Halo Map is officially recognized by WPI's Game Development Club.
Alex Schwartz--3D Studio Max, Textures, Master Chief.
Alex has been deeply involved in Halo since its release, participating in both the competitive and modding scenes. Interested in computers, gaming, and digital media, he came to WPI for the new Interactive Media and Game Design major (IMGD). Being the first IMGD major and the only one with experience in game design, he showed the other members how to get started, sharing his self-taught modeling and modding skills in addition to the leadership that was needed to get this project off the ground. The bulk of the 3D design and technical aspects of the WPI Map were handled by Alex. He can be contacted at his web site, gtproductions.net.
Matt Murdy--Scenario, Textures, Lighting, Photos, Web site.
Matt has always been very interested in computers and the different things that can be done with them. He has always had a side interest in photography and therefore eagerly volunteered to go around campus and take the necessary reference photos. He was also in charge of taking pictures that he used Photoshop to turn into repeating textures to be used throughout the map. Matt also loves Xbox and Halo, and therefore making a Halo map that could be played on Xbox *and* on the computer was the perfect opportunity for him.
Josh Dick--Textures, Troubleshooting/Playtesting, Web site.
Josh would call himself a 'computer geek'. He's basically interested in two things: computers and music. Josh is responsible for creating some of the textures (windows, flags, tiles, carpeting, bricks, signs, and other random scenery) in the map. Josh and Matt also created this web site together. Josh is a Computer Science major at WPI, and he can be contacted at his web site, joshdick.net.
Brad Scoville--3D Studio Max.
Brad also aspires to computer and musical endeavors. His primary role on the WPI Map Development team was the construction of the roofs of the campus buildings. Research lead him to the WPI Archives room to retrieve several aerial views of campus for reference. This project is his first encounter with 3D modeling software. Brad enjoys composing and producing songs in Propellerhead Reason. Check out some songs he and Josh wrote together at Josh's web site.
Elisabeth Beinke--Textures, Modeling, Photos
Elisabeth Beinke is a Junior Interactive Media and Game Development major at WPI, with a focus in artistic elements such as modeling, texturing, and animation. She started the WPImap as a sophomore. She has worked on modeling with Maya, texuring, photography, logo design, and more. She aspires to focus more on 3D design and gameplay aspects as well as bringing the WPI Halo Map to other engines. She can be contacted at her website, bethbeinke.com.
Questions or comments about the map should be e-mailed to alex@halogt.com, and questions or comments about this web site should be e-mailed to josh@joshdick.net.
